Partner Announcement
Strengthening the Development of Specialized Personnel Capable of Implementing Appropriate Security Controls and Measures
NEC will enhance its certification acquisition program for NEC Group employees through collaboration with ISACA, an international professional association, to strengthen the development of specialized personnel capable of implementing appropriate security controls and measures. In particular, NEC Solution Innovators, Ltd. will sign a collaborative agreement with ISACA and conduct training as a certified body. Through this initiative, NEC aims to expand the number of holders of internationally recognized certifications such as CISA (Certified Information Systems Auditor) for information system auditing, and CISM (Certified Information Security Manager) for information security management.
At NEC, we focus on developing practical security personnel to provide secure products, systems, and services to our customers, while encouraging the acquisition of external certifications and qualifications as a testament to their high skill levels.
In light of the increasing operational risks for businesses due to the growing severity of cyber attacks, the personnel involved in promoting digital transformation (DX) for our customers are now required to possess skills in risk management, IT governance, and the ability to implement comprehensive information security management.
To support the acquisition of these skills, NEC will enhance its certification offerings in collaboration with ISACA, an organization that has provided training services to over 180,000 IT professionals in 188 countries for more than 50 years. Specifically, NEC Solution Innovators will become an ISACA certified training institution, and starting from December 2024, NEC Group employees will be able to receive certified training for CISA and CISM. Additionally, to maintain their expertise, employees will be supported through weekly study sessions on the latest information even after obtaining their certifications.
Furthermore, by developing official trainers from among NEC Group's security specialists to serve as instructors, we can foster practical skills backed by extensive knowledge gained through practical experience in system implementation. These CISA and CISM certified trainings will be offered not only within the NEC Group but also to our customers.
NEC will continue to promote the development of personnel who can fulfill the responsibilities and roles stipulated in our company-wide "Cybersecurity Management Rules" (Note 1) and encourage obtaining certifications that substantiate these skills. In doing so, we aim to provide secure products, systems, and services to our customers and contribute to the realization of a safe and secure society.
In conjunction with this announcement, we have received the following congratulatory message from ISACA.
ISACA, a global professional association advancing digital trust, is proud to announce a strategic partnership with NEC, a recognized leader in cybersecurity and IT and Cyber Security education/training in Japan. NEC has developed a large number of ISACA-certified professionals within the company and has a team of security trainers in-house. With this experience, NEC can effectively deliver practical, field-oriented education, making it an exemplary partner in carrying out ISACA's mission. With the signing of this partnership, by combining ISACA's global expertise with NEC's local insights, the two organizations aspire to build a robust ecosystem that significantly contributes to developing the next generation of IT and security professionals.
